Default 2005 5.4 won't start

My truck won't start when i turn the key. No noise, I just finished some front end work and had the battery disconnected for awhile, i charged it and re hooked everything up and now it won't start.

Before this, the truck would have occasional bouts when it wouldn't start, just randomly, no noise at all, I'd crank the key and nothing would happen. I'd just keep trying until it did start or I'd use the remote start. Now nothing works at all. Can someone help out, maybe some possibilities of what's going on?

Are you getting any power anywhere?

Have you tried another key?

Re-check all connections.

With your headlights on, and you try to crank the engine. Does the headlights get dim?

Have you tried starting it in nutreal? Or just moving the shifter some.

Check the wiring to the starter. There's a small wire going to it that tends to get hit by the corrosion monster.

Where exactly would this wire be located? I'm more of an engine guy, wiring scares me, haha

If you can't get the shifter out of park you may have other issues, but the wire I'm thinking of is located on the bottom of the starter. It's about 18 ga and rots off with time.

ended up having to spend $100 for a tow truck to take me two blocks down to my dealership whom I had made an appointment with to put new tie rods on ($350 labor/alignment). I have officially broken college kid broke status.

Not to mention I'm canadian, so we're at ~$7 a gallon. Gah. If anyone wants to help out, i'll gladly set up a paypal account haha
