Default 2005 5.4 please help

I have a 2005 f150 5.4 4x4 the I bought this truck about 8 months ago the guy I bought it off of replaced the driver camphaser, and all new timing chains and new guides the guy that fixed it for him told him not to plug the vct sielond back up for at least 3 oil changes so I just replaced both vct siloneds just to do it and I plugged it back in and it drove fine for a week and then one day it started making a slapping noise bad so I turned my truck off and unplugged the vct sielond on the driver side and it started right up and has had no problem at all the truck just now hit 100,000 miles if anyone knows anything about this problem or could help me out please help me out thanks

The solenoid controls oil pressure to the phaser. Could be a bad solenoid

I ordered them off rockauto I ordered the highest ones they had I really have no clue what it could of been making that slapping noise it sounded to me to be a chain slapping but is it possible the cam chasers have went bad after 20,000 and the timing chains and guides to go bad that soon I'm scared to hook the vct solenoid back up bc this is my only vehicle!!

The solenoids only are 2 weeks old and the ones that was in it before looked good but I still replaced them.

Did the new solenoids fix your problem?

No that's when it messed up and I unplugged the drive side which was already unplugged before I put the new ones in and when it started making that slapping noise I turned it off and unplugged it and its not making that noise now
