2004 transmission issues
I just purchased a 2004 F150 4X4. I paid 350$ for this truck, transmission was bad. Would only work in 1st gear. I removed trany and had it rebuilt. Was told all the clutches where bad, all replaced and installed all the "up dates added". Just to be safe I replaced the torque converter. For 4000 miles all was good! Cruising long the highway at 70mph I eased off the gas going down a hill, eased back on gas to go up the hill, there was nothing there!! It was like the truck went into neutral, pulled to side of highway and when I went to shift it into park grinding noise. Restarted truck and put in drive, speedo read 20 mph. somehow it seems like the transfer case went into tow neutral. Put truck in park I was able to push it, tow truck pulled it up on the flatbed while it was in park.Had it dropped off in a parking lot. While unloading it in park it went into park, had to put it in neutral to finish unloading. Now it will go into gear, but it's going in forward or reverse at normal rmp, it will slam into gear hard!! Easy on the gas and it slam into 2nd hard and than 3 hard! RPM will be about 2k and the speedo will read 70MPH while only doing maybe 15 mph. The only code I get is P1270 excessive rpm. Any ideas would be very helpful!! Thank You!
