2004 Radio Issues
Hopefully someone here will know more about radios than I do...I recently tried to hook up a GPS unit to the radio power (the one that turns on/off with the key) and shorted *something* out because I accidentally crossed the hot/ground wire and it sparked.
After deciding to move the gps hook up to something else(correctly this time!) I realized that the radio won't work. I can plug in the power plug in the back and hear the radio shuffling through the CD's so it has power. The screen is blank with the power on but if I press the menu button the time comes on for 5 seconds then turns back to black screen. I can eject/load all 6 cds but then the screen turns right back off. Thinking I blew the unit itself I plugged in a friends old OEM unit (same one 6CD changer) and his does the exact thing. Checked all fuses, and all are good. Anyone have any clue?

Well didn't get any replies from people here as to what could be wrong with it...however finally figured out what the problem was. Feel stupid that the fix was a simple fuse except it was the fuse that is related to lighting up the switches for the power windows and the switch for the sunroof. Why in the world that fuse has anything to do with the radio is beyond me but figure I would let everyone know.
