Default 2004 Lariat question

Hi everyone, I am new to the board but not to Ford Trucks
I am wondering if anyone might have a suggestion to helo toruble shoot an issue I am having. Here goes
Last year I was getting what felt like a tranny slip when accelerating from 50mph. too the truck to the dealer and they said it was a torque converter issue. So they re built the entire tranny for good measure and returned the truck to me. The same day I got it back it did the same thing. I took it back and they said sorry must be the plugs. I had all them changed and for the past several months all has been running well. ( except for the loud cam phasers that is) now at highway speeds 55 to 60 MPH when i let off the gas and then accelerate I get what feels like a miss, or a slip. I am leary about takingit back to the dealer without some suggestions or past issues that others have had so I can make some suggestions.

Thanks to all that post a response.

Jeff

Is the overdrive on? If so, it's normal for some slight lag in accelleration; the overdrive kicks off and the truck launches in third gear.

Try disabling the overdrive.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried switching the OD on and off and still had the same results. The Truck has 100,000 miles on it.

Thanks

I'd have the transmission checked by a qualified shop. If it's never had any maintenance (I.E. fluid changes), it's most likely on its way to permanient failure.

Default Fixed!

Thanks to all that replied, it turns out it was a bad coil. a couple hundred later at the dealer and the truck seems to be running great!
