Hello everyone and thanks for the forum membership. My name is James I recently purchased my first ever ford 2004 f150 super cab fx4 with a 5.4 . It has an air raid intake with a working cowl hood and flowmaster cat back. My question is how do I find out if it's chipped? It runs very good my step dad has a 2007 xl with a 5.4 stock and its not even comparable. I recently took a mechanic for a ride to show him how it shifts and his response was " slow down holy **** this is not a normal 5.4" I was a bit worried about the tranny as it shifts a lot more then id think and when you step on it it holds the gear until you let off. The other night I pulled away from a stock 2012 dodge ram and I had a small load of salt/sand in the truck along with 4 other people. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

 

Ford should be able to tell you if there is a tune left on it. But getting the tune off tends to be the more difficult part.
