my 2004 f-150 with 111,000 miles clunks every time I start driving from a standing start..Has anyone experienced this ? Maybe the u-joint ?....does it require periodic maintenance....if so, what can I do , it drives me crazy.

 

thats what it sounds like to me. im not sure if this is serviceable or not because i know the driveshaft we have is some kind of special driveshaft specific to a few model years. as soon as the weather cools down i will be pulling my driveshaft because i have a leaky rear seal on my tranny. take a look at yours and let me know what you find out!

 

Bad u-joint..does it do it when you put it into reverse ???
