Hi guys.. im looking for some opinion from you guy.. its been almost a year that my 5.4 have a pretty loud ticking noise, i can hear it in the cab even with an almost strait pipe exaust... at first it was only doing it rarely but now its always doing it and if i remove the oil cap i can hear it realy bat from the top end. Now what ive done.. new timming chain, tensioner, guide and cam phaser delete tunned by mike from 5 star.
I would realy like to quiet it down a bit

You can do it from the top by jamming chain and pulling cams . Clean wells out good hand lube everything . All cam stuff has to go back exactly how it came out . Lash's must be hand primed and soaked . Oem select ebay full set around $265.
Mark all positions before you start ,use factory sequence to slowly sequently unbolt . Be very gentle with cams and phasors . Clean it out good .
You should have cleaned oil pan out already. Torque back in slowly and sequentially . Don't stress cam shaft .

Any codes? are you absolutely sure you don't have a crack in your exhaust manifolds?
