The power steering on my 2008 5.4. is completely inoperative under about 1500 rpm. I have been fighting with the dealership about replacing it under warranty. It was a certified pre-owned when I bought it with 48k. The original 7 year 100,000 mile factory powertrain warranty also came with the truck.
it now has 66k on it. and the dealership tells me that it does not fall under my warranty and is refusing to fix it.
last I checked the PS is part of the engine, which is POWERTRAIN.

anyone else experienced this problem? how did you go about convincing them to fix it? (if you were able to)

 

I don't think Ford offered a 7 year 100K Factory warranty ... you may have an after market warranty...either way I would assume it would be covered also. good luck

 

It was a 5 year. Check ur build date

 

ah yea certified preowned has a 7yr/100k powertrain warrenty

its 7 years from the ORIGINAL invoice date aka when the first owner bought the truck...so take my truck it was CPO also...the original invoice date was 9/30/07 so my powertrain warrenty expires 9/30/14

and to a total of 100K miles...take my truck again...when i got it it had 23.5K miles on it...so techically my powertrain warrenty is 2.5yr/76.5K miles


the P/S system doesnt fall under the powertrain warrenty...only the engine, trans, t-case, diff and 4wd system
