07 F-150 Stock Muffler Upgrade
I'm a new member and recently purchased a 2007 F-150 with the 5.4 triton. At this point I'm not looking to spend a few hundred dollars to replace the entire exhaust system and would like to simply replace the stock muffler. I understand that by doing this I will see little to no increase the in truck's performance or fuel mileage. I'm simply looking for a slightly deeper rumble and better tone than the stock system. I've done a fair amount of research and looked on YouTube at a number of different set ups but most of what I have seen/heard is a full exhaust system replacement. Any recommendations for the sound that I am looking for? Thanks!

If aluminized mild steel isn't a problem for you, I think the Turbo mufflers sound amazing.
Or Gibson.
Or Gibson.

I personally love Cherry Bomb glass packs. Ran true dual straights with 12" glass packs on my '07 with the 5.4. It was awesome. If you want quieter (which you likely do), it had a knockoff Flowmaster 40 series before that was si/so and also sounded great. I don't have a video of how that sounded unfortunately. But it wasn't obnoxious. It was ran to a Y right after the muffler when I had it, and dualed straight out the back from there.

The rule on glass packs is the longer the muffler the lower the tone. I have the longest magnaflow they make (26" i think) on mine and it sounds great. i got it at pep boys for like $35

If stock, drop stock muffler and add 18" magnaflow or whatever famous maker you like. 2.25" diameter is what you want. Will need to buy some piping to take up the space with smaller muffler.

I have a Flowmaster Delta 50 series. It adds just a little rumble, but not a lot. I like it because it just gives it a little sound but i can still hear the engine and have 0 drone in the cab. I haven't had anybody drive my truck to listen outside the cab but i'd bet its not very loud at all.

There was a member on here that did the muffler swap with a Summit 2 chamber (flowmaster knock off). He got the muffler for like 30 bucks and a piece of extension pipe and clamps for 20. I think total cost for the swap was around 50 bucks...I can't remember his name tho...

I have a Flowmaster Delta 50 series as well. I actually think I was the first of our little group to adopt it as a replacement for the stock muffler without doing any other exhaust work. Actually, I've had it for over a year now (6/9/16 is when I had it welded on), and I still love it.
Back in April I grabbed some soundbites for people who wanted to know what it sounded like. Here's the post: https://www.f150forum.com/f4/what-di...7/#post5266932
