Default '07 5.4 plug change

I've done it before and don't expect problems with the plug removal etc. Question is about dielectric grease for the cop boots. Having done a bunch of reading I haven't been able to confirm if it's just inside the boot on the spring, outside of the boot? Both? Any clarification would be ideal. Fighting the odd random misfire and I want to make sure I get everything right the first time.

Just inside of the boot towards the bottom where it covers the plug.

and a little on the inside of the boot on the COP side too.. this will help keep moisture out... i would replace the boots and springs $25 at rockauto... nothing on the spring itself.. i also used a little around my COP and fuel injector connectors...
