Default 07 5.4 break loss

On my 07 5,4 triton I lost my breaks and cant stop . To be fair i noticed signs of an issue coming but cant afford to do much at the moment. The abs light was on and then started to hear a rattling from the rear almost like i had a bed full of metal clanging around that got more frequent and loud. Then the other day i picked up a nail and tire was flat so dropped the spare and put it on. Instantly with the spare on the first time I needed to break the pedal went to the floor so pumped the beaks and came to stop. went that way till next day when i fixed origional tire and put it back on with no change. next day I tried it and its so bad i cant drive the truck safely and has to sit. just getting it home was a battle. i looked under the back end for the noise and anyrhing visual and saw metal shavings on back driver side so thats the trouble maker i assume. what next and keep in mind money is tight

You are working on Brakes ? without money, you are not going to be able to fix this properly and drive safely. How many miles on this truck ? when was the last brake job ? sounds like you are down to the metal on pads, could very well be what your ABS light is telling you.

If you can't afford it, then wait until you have the money. You can't afford to take a shortcut or try to save on brakes. You can try to find cheaper parts online. Of course, Amazon will have cheaper prices than your local auto parts store. Here's an idea of what you might need for parts.
