Default '06 Steering is stiff

I have a '06 with the 5.4. My power steering suddenly got stiff. My truck doesn't get used much. I tried doing the fluid flush it worked fine for about 10 miles and is stiff again.
I did notice during the flush that according to the manual the smaller line from the reservoir is supposed to be the pressure line and the larger the return line. However the larger line is sucking the fluid from the reservoir and the smaller line is returning it to the reservoir. I left the cap off once and fluid went everywhere(don't do that).
It seems like the pump is pumping, however maybe backwards. Is there anything else that could be blocking or bypassing the fluid?
I'm going to try lubricating the steering knuckles tonight, not expecting much help since it worked for awhile after flushing it.

Check the steering shaft,it's below the master cylinder. Here is a video...long winded video.

Thanks 2nd150. I kroil(ed) the heck out of it and it loosened up. I ordered a new one, OEM from Ebay when I get it I'm going to replace it.
I saw some of the aftermarket ones but they were all solid shafts and I wasn't sure if the sliding shaft was part of the turning or more likely for crash crumple protection.
