Found. 06 lariat. White with the dreaded 5.4. For 13k.with 87k worth it ? I may or may not trade my 05 xlt 152k....... the 5.4 makes me cringe. Dont wanna go through phaser crap again

My opinion, if you don't want to mess with the phasers don't get the truck. If you don't pull anything with your truck get a 4.6. I know alot of people say its underpowered but it really isn't. I have one and love it.

I would also pass on it. I have the 5.4 and am ordering phazer parts as we speak. Should have listened to my inner self and got the 4.6. Oh well, learn from our mistakes, padawon.

Honestly i haven't heard the phasers being a problem on the 2006's. Just the 04-05, and im pretty sure they weren't. every 04-05 i test drove had the problem, but none of the 2006s i drove did, and my 06 doesn't.

Is it a 4x4. Scab. Screw or what. As far as cam phasers my 05 has 190000 miles on it and yeah they make noise and have since I got it with 130k on it and haven't done anything to em. But still runs strong and never had any problems. Sounds like a good price

I think your right, the phaser problem was worked out for the '06. If I'm right, even the spark plugs where taken care by then.
Might have to double check on that, all the info is on this site, i believe its in a sticky.

I have an 06 XLT with 97k and the engine is as quiet as a church mouse but the sparkplug issue was there. Broke six.

Yeah, i just got done checking, i guess the whole 04-08 range got the famous two piece plugs.

I decided to pass. On that truck and try to figure out mine. I'm only paying 240 a month and have 2 5. Years left on it
