Default 06 Lariat, need help please

Hi,

I have searched this forum for the answer to this question but cant quite find the answer im looking for. So try not to flame me. I have a 2006 f150 Lariat and have always bought the BFG all terrain and they have always sucked. Ive been through 3.5 sets in 70k miles. So this time now that all 4 tires need to be replaced im thinking of going a different route.

I currently have LT275/65R18. Right now I have Load C which maybe be my issue?

I want to put a slightly larger tire on my stock rim, so from what Ive read I think I could use somethign like 285/65R18 which would be slightly larger or even a 295/65R18 which would be even larger.

Is this correct. And if so how large can I go before it rubs. Ive seen references to 34 or 35 inch but what does that equate to in the first number when buying a tires?

Im looking at Nitto Terra Grapplers or any other suggestions? Mainly pavement driving but like a slightly more aggressive look like the Terra Grapplers. Also would like them to last a while.

Thanks
Rob

Toyo Open Country A/T work perfectly for me honestly, great thick tread that'll get you 50k miles if rotated every 3k.

I've got an 04 lariat and I'm running 275/65/18 fierce attitude tires on mine, goes great in the mud and snow. At about 1/4 tread right now with 30k on them. Got the set for $800.

I have had the 285/65/18 toyo open country a/t on my truck and easily got 50k miles out of them. As for the scrubbing, I now have 295/70/18 nitto trail grapplers with a 3" leveling kit and no scrubbing whatsoever. The guy at the tire shop told me those were equivalent to 34.5" tire.
