on the way to the beach friday, my 6 disc cd player pretty much froze up. it has 6 cds in it but won't play any or eject them. when i hit the cd button on the dash it reads CD ERROR and wont turn on or anything. any ideas on how to fix it or to at least get the cds out? i disconnected the battery hoping that that would reset it and let them eject or start back working but no dice.

Sounds like the same thing happened to yours that did to mine. Seems there's a plastic gear in it that self detructs rendering the cd unit worthless. Also appears that John Q Public can't order it anywhere, meaning you have to send the unit to someone to be repaired. Sorry, doesn't look good for you.

 

my did the same thing, i end up having to buy a new one and cut open the factory one to get the cds

 

when i got in it to go to work this morning it started making a noise like it was trying to change cds. i hit the cd button (it was on the radio at the time) and it went to cd one and started playing. i shuffled thru cds and it works fine now. i think my buddy hitting the cd change button 10 times really fast freaked it out, no idea really. but it works fine now

 

my cd player always ejects cds. it will be playing just fine and then it will start skipping ramdomly and then it will say "bad cd" and eject it. still saving for my double din so i can deal with it for now.
