Okay past 2 days I've gotten a really strong coolant smell in the cab...


I get it when i first turn on ac OR heat... and then it's random.. sometimes it stronger after i drive for a bit..

I tried smelling passenger side floorboard.. can't really smell it... floor isn't wet or anything no green ozy ****....


I get the smell with no AC/HEAT on and just cruising

sometimes it gets really strong...

my question is... what's the odds of it being a heater core? if it is.. is there a quicker way then pulling entire dash?

also is there a sure-fire way to tell? like if i was to pressure check the system?

To me...it sounds like heater core leaking a little.

Odds.. 90 : 1 heater core. A quicker way to get to it.. nope

Might want to look at it soon. Not sure how healthy it is to huff coolant vapors all day haha

I was thinking same thing i just didnt see any real signs besides the smell and man it gets really bad sometimes... gives mr headache.. guess im pulling dash...

can someone give me a break down on what comes out? never took a dash out of a 04-08 f150..


also its a good time to replace the actuator and see if i have the famous foam issue in blend door.... anything else? to check/replace


i definitely have to do a heater core... this weekend.. its steaming out of vents now.. and im losing coolant cause it's burning it off the coils.....
