Default 06 F150 A/C issue

We have an 2006 F150 that is giving us hell to get the A/C up and running. We have replaced pretty much everything on the system with the exception of the wiring harness, evaporator and condenser. The truck have : new compressor, new control panel, new dryer, new low and high pressure switches, new blower resistor, new a/c relay and diode. We have checked for continuity on the wiring and yet have not been able to find anything. The only way to get the system to engage is to supply power to the diode. Can some one shine some light on this please?

You need too obtain a wiring diagram of the system. Then check every component until you find the fault. Why were the other parts changed? Were they found to be non functional?

Any other items not working? These do run through the gauge cluster, and if they have an issue the A\C wont work. The fan will still blow air, just not ac.

What model truck do you have? As Jojodapyro may be leading to, either you or a previous owner may have swapped out the cluster for a fancier one, and now the A/C compressor does not engage unless you apply direct power to it.

Common when folks installed the Lariat cluster in a non Lariat or non auto A/C equipped truck. If your truck has the manual controls, and you put a Lariat cluster in it, the A/C compressor will not engage without modification. There is a thread (or two or three) on how to do this if this is your case.

Tell us your truck model (FX, STX, Lariat, etc), and what type of cluster you have.
