06 5.4L starting problem
I rebuilt my transmission and re-installed. turned the key one notch and the dash lights came on and seat belt chime was working , turned to start and wouldn't start. I jumped the terminals on the starter with a screw driver and the truck started.
All 4 wheels were off the ground and I wanted to test the 4x4 while I was under the truck, my son put his foot on the brake to shift the gears and the truck shut off. He put it back in park.
Now when we turn the key to start, no dash warning lights or seat belt chime works and nothing happens when I try to start. no solenoid clicking or anything. can't even shift it to neutral. I'm sure it is an electrical thing, but not sure what. I've checked all the fuses and relays, and all are good.
My brake lights do work, when the brake is depressed so I don't think it is in the brake switch. My PAT light blinks normal. Anyone have an idea on what I need to be looking for?

By any chance do you have a remote start. Only saying this because when mine acts up it acts very similar. Just out of curiosity did you try dropping it back down and giving it a try with all wheels on the ground?
