Default 05 Spark Plugs Attack

Prepare for the worse, bought all the tools and some.

Started the job with hot engine but no impact gun just old fashion wrenching.
After four hours, got five out.
Take a look at the old and new picture. Does the old one looks like it has 73K miles?

Thanks guys!

Those old plugs look worn out for sure. Have you got the back plugs out yet? Those will be the hardest

Thanks, I've got one of them out, the passenger side is a PITA!

3 more to go and the engine is cold, this could be a problem.

Well folks, got 7 out and none broke. Yeah!
The last one passenger firewall is stubborn, lot of screeching and hard to turn. I'm going to let it sit over night, and let penetration lube does its job. Tomorrow is another.

I just did mine last weekend .I started with cyl 1,2&3 by cracking the plugs 1/4 turn and soak them overnight.got up in the morning and broke all three with only turning them a 1/4 turn more .I then picked up my 3/8 impact and the rest came out without breaking a single one .the lisle tool took the broken plugs out like a champ!!

Hot engine is the key. Remove and replace 3 or 4 and go drive to reheat the eng. Repeat as needed. I recently did mine with 95,000 miles. No problems.

Yeah, I may have to heat the engine up again for the last one, I'll find out soon enough.

When I cracked the first three plugs 1/4 turn I could hear the porcelain breaking and I knew it was bad news and I turned them as easy as I could and the engine was warm .those 3 broke I Impacted the rest with a cold motor the next day and the rest came out in one piece .watch video on plug #4 extracted with impact I have added below just tap on pic to play video.

I was actually retightening my plugs this last weekend. I saw that I should have tightened them to 25 ft lbs the first time. I have an '05 as well, and all I have to say is thank God for the Lisle extraction tool.

Sounds like a few broke. How many miles were they on there before replacement?
I bought the Lisle tool too, but thanks goodness I didn't have to use it.
