Default 05 power window question

just wondering if anybody has any suggestions.... I have a 05 crew-cab and I cant get the drivers window to go DOWN. If I hit the up switch I can hear and see that the motor works for s split second, so there is power. Just can get it to go down.

Is this a switch problem or regulator or relay ( if there are any? if there is a relay where are they?)

I dont have the owners manual so its all guess work right now.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

If it is the same thing that happened to my truck it's just the switch itself. My window wouldn't go up. Just take the cover over the window switches off, and they should pop out. The four window and window lock switches come out as one unit, and I got a replacement from the dealership for $60. The guy said he sells about 4 a week. I think that sounds like a recall, but that's just me.

Thanks for the reply. I guess thats my only option right now.

Does anybody know if there are any relays for the power windows?

Thanks again

The same thing happened to mine, except it was down when the switch went out and I couldn't get it to go up. And to make it better I was outta town, I pulled the cover off and took the switch apart, I was able to use a small screwdriver to hit the contact to make it go up untill I got home to replace the switch.

thanks for all the replys. Well, you guys were right, I bought a new switch set for the drivers door and everything works like new.

They had it at the dealer for $100, I am still surprised that this has to be replaced on a 2005 truck.

I tried to get my old switch working by cleaning the contacts.... if you are going to try to do that, make sure the power is OFF, I got one heck of a spark.

Thanks again
