Default 05 Lariat

I'm searching for a truck and come across a 05 Lariat that is a one owner. Very nice truck and very decked out which I assume is what the Lariat is all about. Truck has the 5.4. It is high mileage at 178K which is ok as long as the maintenance has been done. Not sure if the plugs have been changed though. It is very very clean and does not have a tow hitch which hopefully means it has not been used for towing. Any issues with these long term and high mileage? I see plenty of F150's with very high miles overall. They are asking 7 for this one and I offered the guy six so I will see if he bites.

Too high IMO that engine is getting ready for a huge makeover more than likely.

Is the 5.4 not known for longevity? I see plenty of trucks for sale with much higher miles.

If they take six I think its a decent deal.

I wouldn't have a vehicle with that high miles as my only form of transportation.

But for that price you could probably afford a new motor or trans if either went out and still be very well off if the rest of the truck is as good as you say it is.
