Default 05 Brakes problem, please help

Today while driving my abs light come on while moving some stuff between apartments, consulted my owners manual and I believe it basically means one of the sensors its having a problem but the brakes will be fine unless the brake light comes on too.

Later in the day my front passenger brake was very hot and smelled like it was burning, after cooling for a bit I continued on and at another stop the front right wheel was very hot but the left was cool as well as the rear brakes both times.

anyone know what's happening because the truck brakes fine and no squealing noise is occurring. It seems like one front brake is getting very hot while the others are operating normally.

I'm not sure what your problem could be, but I do know there was a recall on a hose for the brake booster... Do you know if you ever had that fixed?

As a mechanical engineer surely you understand how hydraulics work. You have a problem that requires trained expertise to alleviate.

Caliper is dragging or hose collapse internally.

Either a bad brake line, or a dragging caliper, which are both possible.

I've had the same problem. Yesterday it got so hot it started to smoke! I changed the caliper and started there. Bull**** I have 80k and already have to change calipers.

They're mechanical items with finite lifespans. They happen. Far better now than 20 years ago, you probably would have gotten rid of the truck at 60K.
