I was driving about 30 MPH and when it shifted to third it was like I was in neutral. Engine just revs up and it goes nowhere. Transmission never slipped before this happened. Is it trans?? Could it be a shift sensor?? Any help would be greatly appreciated

 

Get it checked. I had a problem similar to yours years ago with a minivan. I wwas cruising around 40 mph and then it seemed like I was in neutral. I let the van slow down to around 30 mph and hit the gas and it seemed ok after that. Two weeks later I was at a stoplight. I went to hit the gas pedal and heard a clunk -the engine just spun. None of the forward gears would work- I could only go in reverse. One of the gears, according to the dealership, was destroyed.

 

Took my truck to transmission shop. I have a broken main drive hub. Gotta get trans rebuilt. 1300 bucks

 

yeah mine did that too and I got it rebuilt 20k miles later the tranny was junk just got a new one last month thank god for warranty
