Default 04 F150 Viberates Real Bad!

Hello Everyone. Have had my 04 f150 5.4 crew cab 8ft bed truck for 3 years now. Within the past 3 months I have gotten a viberation above speeds of 70mph. It is slowly happening at slower speeds now (starts at 50). Between 50 -70 it is not constant. It feels like it happens every revolution of the shaft or so. Once you hit 70 its a constant viberation. The seats, dash board and everything inside is shaking it gets bad. It is defiantly coming from the rear..

What I have done so far is balanced all 4 tires, Rotated the tires and still happens. I was told to check the u joints but they seem tight with no play up and down. These u joints are the pressed in ones that you need the special kit for...

Any one have any ideas ? Thanks

Wheel bearings... or check your rotors for excessive rust. I had a 2004 Crown Vic that had a front vibration... I bought new tires, rims, balanced, re-balanced, tierods.. it was driving me crazy...

At 100k miles, the original rotors finally need to be replaced. After replacing the rotors, the car was 100% perfect. The rusty rotors were causing a rotational imbalance causing the vibration.

Or, you have a tire inner belt that is beginning to separate.

As to "U-joints, that too could be at fault. Even though they "feel" tight, the tiny roller bearings could be flat, causing the vibration.

Check your parking brake. They tend to freeze up or also the cable can come unhooked. I know this has given other forum members a vibration.

Also do not forget to check for a loose nut behind the wheel.

Rotors were replaced 20k ago with pads.. Did the hub bearing trick by quickly moving the wheel to each side and the vibration did not change..

Tires are fine.. All 4 have even tread no chalkiness.

E brake works properly already checked that. Just replaced the cable to as it snapped on me..

For the joint, That is what I have heard. Even though it may feel tight, the pins inside could be bad..

If the pinion was bad, wouldn't it make a whine noise?

Take it to an alignment shop; ask that one of the techs go for a ride with you so you can demonstrate the issue.
