'04 - '08 Truck Picture Thread...
I have too much emotional attachment to my old truck. I'd bring the adjuster out to a back alley if they tried to total my old girl
NIGHT TRAIN
maybe i will keep her. motor has 172K though...
got the raptor bug now, lol...
if i do sell her i can get twice as much as i was gonna make from the total. would help control a new truck payment a little better, lol...
still up in the air, but have to decide soon. will the new shoes be $1400 trail grapplers or less expensive M/T tires...

Well boys and girls, the ford house tells me it is repairable. they also have some contract prices with my insurance company on suspension alignments, front and back. those are in the estimate that came in at around $6400...
Guess the NIGHT TRAIN will ride again !!!!
Then she might be for sale in about 10 months when she is paid off.

This makes my issues seem minor. I knew my original bumpers needed some attention, but last week I went to step up to grab something out of the bed and the corner crumbled. Still attached, but a bit saggy. I've wanted to swap out for chrome front and rear anyway, along with a polished grill to dress it up a bit. (I bought the FX4 because it was a bargain, 100k fewer miles than everything else out there for the same price - not so attached to painted bumpers, and mine were oversprayed with a textured black paint by the dealership, apparently to hide their condition.) The sunroof is also non-functional and will not stay closed.
Question: If I intend to drive this until it just can't take it anymore, how much harm would I be doing to resale if I just swapped out the current roof for a solid one? Current roof has some dents, which I imagine are part of the problem with the leaky sunroof. A sunroof is the only option I couldn't care less about, and since the dealership said it's an $1100 repair, a new roof panel is less than that with install.
