Anyone know what the envelope icon means on the radio display and how do you, either read the message or delete the icon?

yeah i did that. i have an iphone 5 and was never able to get the system to read or download or send any txt messages. My phone does not show any unread mesages either.

The issue you have with the system not working right is probably why it's not clearing. There are a few good threads in here that walk through step by step the correct sequence to repair. Try those out and see if it works. It's kind of hit or miss for some folks.

On the MFT systems, the icon shows when there is unread txt's only. Even if the system reads the message aloud, I found I can't get icon to clear unless its read on the phone as well. After its cleared it switches to show the phones signal strength.

On your iPhone turn notifications on your BT PAIRING. it's an option on your iPhone.

Try this....press the voice command button on the steering wheel. Say "read message". If there is a text message downloaded from your phone it should be read out loud to you by SYNC. If not it should clear the icon.

I don't see notifications on my phone. I just have "Groups" and under it I have Phone Favorites, Phone Recents and all contacts.
