Default You know the old saying?

"If it appears to be to good to be true it probably is."

I've been wanting a console to replace the jump seat in my '10 XLT Screw for a year and a half now. I finally found one on eBay that is reasonably priced described as having minor scratches that can't be seen in the picture. Well it turned out that non visable scratches were gouges and deep scrapes that are very visable.

The first time since 1996 that I've been buy on eBay I didn't question the 95.5% rating of the seller. I decided to take a change here and got the raw end of what would have been a pretty good deal.

Oh well! live and learn I've always said. I guess considering how long I've been buying on eBay, this isn't to bad.

I'll never do it again.

Have you called the seller? If the pics didn't show the scratches and it had deep scratches eBay will prob help you out. When I've sold things on there eBay specifically asked for pics of any damage. I would contact eBay and see wat they have to say

sorry about your luck. been buying and selling on ebay for many years myself. all in all a pretty good place to get things. sometimes you run into this, but for the most part it's decent. i NEVER trust anybody with less than 98% rating though. that's just my preference.

but back to your "new" console. there are interior repair guys that can fix it for you i bet. i once had a Bullitt mustang that the original owner decided to stick hat pins all over the dash. leaving little holes all over the place. i had it repaired by one of our local guys and you could never even tell the holes were there. and i even watched the guy do the repairs and i still couldn't find them when he was done. just a thought for ya...

Thanks for the input. I have already contacted the seller. I thought I should at least give them an opportunity to respond to my complaint. I know it's going to be a matter of semantics. How one describes the difference between a non visible scratch and a visible gouge or damaged surface.

I have also had pretty good luck up until now.

As far as having the surface repaired, I doubt this damage can be repaired and still maintain the original texture and color. The particular damaged panel is replaceable but it costs $60. Even thought the sell stated there will not be any returns excepted I will give them an opportunity to refund the cost of a replacement panel which I'm sure they will not go along with before I file a complaint.

I also mis-spoke the seller rating in the original post. It is 98.5% instead of 95.5%.
