Default For you guys that have a 5* tuned truck

I have a couple times now pulled out when maybe I shouldn't have knowing my truck had the ***** to get out there, hammered it and banged the rev limiter. Its done it on the 87 Oct performance tune and the 93 Oct performance tune. So my question is, have you guys had to bump up the rev limiter from his tunes, or has anyone else had this happen? I'm not sure what rpm it does it since I'm trying to keep one eye on the road and the other on the person fast approaching my rear end. No I haven't called Mike yet, just curious if I'm the Lone Ranger here. Thx

I've never tried my 91 perf tune. But, I've ran the 87, 89, and 91 perf/tow tunes and don't ever remember hitting the rev limiter.

I have hit mine before, usually after traction control kicks in then suddenly out trying to contain the power. Mine is set around 5900rpm. I now have the habit of shutting off the TC when I first get it. I would personally prefer to deal with tire spinning myself then let the nanny do it.

I haven't tried turning off the traction control, but that's really the last thing you think of before pulling out into traffic.

I have 5* but have an ecoboost. I have not exceeded 4k rpm ever and frankly don't need to exceed just Over half that to take off fast. So I'm. O help to you here.... I would not raise the limiter it's there to protect your engine, ARe you saying you need to rev it for power? Are you saying it won't shift right and bounces off the limiter? Or just that you hit the limiter? The last question...no issue, just a function of your 5.0 that makes it's power at higher revs. Assume tune helps it rev faster...which would be a good thing.

Oh, sorry I use the mobile page so didn't see you had a 5.0, my info probably doesn't help.
