Default One year, 27,358k miles and very happy with my 2wd EcoBoost Platinum

I have officially owned my 2013 2wd EcoBoost Platinum for a year now. Bought it with 400 miles on it and it now has 27,358k miles on it, yeah I drive a lot! Been in once for warranty work which was a window motor and a noise from the A/C which turned out to be a straw I had in the glove compartment . I love the EcoBoost and I'm seeing a solid 17-22mpg and have went from filling up on the average of 2-5 times a week with my 04 super crew w the 5.4 V8 in it down to ONE fill up a week thanks to the EcoBoost. I was nervous coming from both a 03 SVT Lightning and then a 04 Lariat w the 5.4 V8 but the performance is unreal.

Removed the air-dam and seen no change in mpg but I don't tow anything. Got a few small dents/dings but nothing worth correcting for the time being. The factory Bridgestone Duelers get rotated every time I'm due for an oil change and are wearing great, although I'm gonna go with a little more aggressive tread pattern first tire swap. Installed 2" lowering shackles, then lifted it up an inch then finally got tired of the squat so I returned it to factory height and the rides still great. Breaks are wearing evenly.

Only real "mods" I've done are installed a 2014 lower grill insert to fill up that giant hole, replaced the factory fog light bulbs with LED bulbs, installed some Anzo clear LED side markers to get rid of those goofy orange mirror reflectors and also stuffed my sub with some Polly-fill to get a little more umph out of it. That's kinda the reason I bought a 52k truck, I didn't wanna have to do much!I would have loved to go with a 4wd model but my line of work finds me driving into a lot of pretty low parking garages so it wouldn't have worked out for me.

Zero problems w the Synch, Sat(HEY NOW) or Navigation. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase.

Nice looking Platinum bro, I got mine on Dec of 2012 and it currently has 15,xxx miles on it. It has been to service once for a noise in the front wheel passerger side. Turned out to be someting with the 4x4, they changed out the electronic transfer case and the front wheel actuators. Other than that so far so good.

I'm glad you are happy with your truck. It's a nice truck. But I'm trying to wrap my head around this statement, and the math just doesn't work unless you were getting 5-7mpg on your 5.4. Tow a lot?

I had steel 22" wheels/tires and I drive all day long every day. I'm a Fire Sprinkler inspector and the Vice President of my company, so when I'm not in stop and go traffic, I'm running around to job meetings etc. my 2004 was 9.5 years old and it had just north of 185k miles on it... Not highway miles, stop and go rough miles.

These trucks look so much better without the front license plate bracket! Your so lucky you don't have to have one...

You don't let the axle grease get cold in that one brother. Happy to hear it's doing well. Had my Plat 17 months with 15K on her now. Only back to the dealer for oil changes. Absolutely love the ride.

Just had to run up north to a Whole Foods and take care of a work emergency, 212 miles round trip. Seen a 7 Platinums and two Raptors on the way up.

212 round trip miles on a Saturday... So you can see how the miles stack up!
