XLT or FX4
I am seriously considering a 09 F-150 for my next company truck. I am a salesman so travel about 40,000 miles per year, but need a truck because sometimes (7,000 miles per year) I am towing something. I am looking at a SCrew 4x4 with Max tow.
Is it possible to get a center console shifter on an XLT? Is ride different from XLT to FX4? Snyc and the interior looks really nice and is what is making my decision, I have a 07 Titan and love the power, but interior is suffering.
Any pics of interior on a FX4 or XLT would be appreciated.

I chose the FX4 for a couple reasons.
1. I didn't like the light colored interior of the XLT. I loved the black interior of the FX4. I got the bucket seats with the console. I think if you get buckets in the XLT, you get a console but I believe the shifter is still on the column.
2. I didn't like the fact that you had to get the max tow package to get the 3.73 axle ratio. Those mirrors are too big for what I need. The FX4 comes standard with the 3.73 ratio plus it has the electronic locking differential for when things get crazy!
Here's a shot of my interior. I went with the cloth seats. I'm not big on leather seats. No need for heated seats with cloth. Just my opinion.

I bought an XLT and love it but I'm on the verge of regretting not getting the FX4. I dont even need/want 4WD but its such a nice looking truck (without the ugly 4X4 stickers, just my opinion) with a great mix of features and options.
I bought the 2009 Ford F150 XLT 4x4 and Love it. Options can always be added for cheaper and with better choices later. I personally like the shifter on the console instead of the floor. It allows me more room in the front if I need it. There is also a major cost difference between the two. The MSPR says there is a $9,000 difference on the F150 website. Of course what you pay for it will vary depending on what kind of discounts you can get and if you have a trade in, etc. Regardless of which version you get, you will love the truck.
I also went the XLT route, the seating is so much better without the center console in my opinion, and plus additional offical seating making it 6 belted passengers in that truck. Only option I didnt get that I wish I would have is the reverse camera, other than that the truck is perfect.
