Just make sure you clean the surface real good, make sure you're laying it straight and push it down and make sure it's stuck.

I also wish you could get the grill with chrome just on the inside.
It's a little too much for me but still looks good.
I put some chrome vinyl on the 3 crossbars to make it less stark.
It definitely looks better. Looks better in person.
There are some inserts available but I don't really care for them.

Chrome Vinyl
Alright, I have the upper hand because I have a sign shop. However, it is easy to do.
Measure the bars. Each bar is slightly different width. (about .5")
Get some chrome vinyl. I believe stores like Autozone and Pep Boys carry it.
Clean the grill real good. You can use glass cleaner or soap and water.
Important: apply the vinyl wet. All these decals use 3M glue and can be wet for application. This will make it easy to get out all the bubbles. Don't stress if they don't all come out a first. Give it a few days and the sun will make them disappear.
The chrome vinyl is thin so don't crease. Also, the top and bottom bars are slightly arced (curved). You will have to stretch the vinyl a little bit.
Helpful tip: I used black intermediate vinyl underneath. It is much thicker (3mil) and will adhere better to unfinished plastic.
If you can't find the right vinyl, I made a template and have it saved as a pdf file. You can go to a local sign shop and they will cut it for you. It should be fairly cheap. If anyone needs the template I can post it.
Note: The black vinyl will hold up well in the winter. However, I'm not sure about the chrome vinyl. If it doesn't you can easily redo it.
I have already had some compliments by fellow f150 owners.
Good Luck.

The stuff I talking about isn't flat vinyl. It's actually trim that has 3M adhesive behind it. It's flexible and can go around curves etc. It actually looks and feels like aluminum.
Although, the trick you're talking about worked great too. Two thumbs Up sir!

I am guessing that there are a couple in the actual bumper itself and two in the plastic piece that goes over top. You keep your plastic piece with the sensors in it.
All you would probably have to do is drill a 3/4" or so hole where the other two sensors go. I am guessing that the sensor slips in the hole and it is threaded on the back side. I can get an aftermarket rear sensor kit that includes just the two that go in the bumper, no problem for around $100.
