That's what I would do. When we bought our Edge we found it on another dealer's lot. My dealer was more than happy to swap for it so he could sell it to us using X plan. Actually we told him it was as close as we could find, and he spent another day and found one farther from us that was exactly what we wanted. He called that dealer and got it for us, and we used X plan for that. My dealer loves that I use X plan now, because he makes more on that than he does when dealing with me on price, and we are both happy now. Your dealer is not being honest with you.
Having said that, not all dealers will work together like that. Maybe there's some bad blood between those two dealers of yours.

I'm heading out soon to give the dealer I'm working with one more shot to get the truck I want then will be headed to the other dealer. I hate this. I've spent over 16 hours already at dealerships checking out vehicles and beating down the prices. Makes my head hurt.
Good luck getting the truck you want. Just curious though, why are you having to "beat down" prices if you're using X-Plan?

I just ordered a 2011 Explorer to match my truck, and getting the X-Plan price and current incentives (Rebate).

Both apply to a factory order. Guess it might be @ the dealers discretion?

Well, then they couldn't have gone to a finer place! (I live in Beaumont)

Funny, when I bought my truck they had to go to West Texas to get it. And yes, still got the X-Plan.

X-plan price isn't a problem. Getting all the available rebates is. Depending on the dealer I went to the rebates went from $4500 to 7250.

I bought the truck I wanted today. 2010 Screw 4x4 Lariat. Has the options I wanted and looks great. It's white platinum with the lower two tone paint in pueblo gold. Sticker was $45,600 plus the dealer already added a spray in bed liner and tinted windows. Got the truck for $34450. There were $7250 in rebates plus X-plan price. I think it was a good deal. Just got back from a ride with the family to go out to eat.

I'll have to start another thread to show some pix when I get a chance.

Thanks to everyone for the advice.

Wow, sounds like a great deal and you got the truck you wanted. You can't ask for more than that. Enjoy!
