Default Wrecked my Truck!

I plowed into the back of a woman who slammed on her breaks at a green light. (everyone is ok) has anyone else wrecked their truck?? Im concerned it just wont be he same! the damage looks much worse that what i think it really is, engine ran fine just a slight wistle from the radiator or intercooler, i asume they will be replaced...

So did the cops say that it was her fault since she hit her brakes at a green light?

No in the state of Florida it doesnt matter he said i should have been able to stop...he was a really nice guy, pretty much told me to fight it. The left arrow turned red, and I think it spooked her and she slammed on the breaks we were going 45 i was able to slow but she was in a Honda CRV her stopping distance is alittle shorter than ours in these trucks

That sucks Bro! It doesn't really look to bad.. Do the doors open and close like they did before the accident??? I don't think i would worry about it not being the same after it's fixed.. Good luck, Kevin

Sucks that you wrecked. Just remember, it takes, within that 1 second you transition from the throttle to the brake, the vehicle travels 45' (@45mph) before coming to a complete stop. On top of that, the brakes on our trucks are pretty crappy. It sucks man but make sure you get it taken apart to see external damage. You dont want them to look at it and say, yeah we can fix it for this much..... Then a few months later there is something else wrong due to a over looked part that was damaged.

Yep, December 21st on the way to work I decided to take the F150 to work over the Dakota because the tires on the Dakota were bald and we had a lot of freezing rain the night before. It was really windy, Id say 50 mph gusts coming out of the west. I was running 30 mph laking my time when a strong gust hit the drivers' side of the truck, caused me to fishtail a little but I let off the throttle and steered into it and it straightened out, then a stronger gust hit and it spun me around. I had just past a sheriffs deputy on the southbound side shoulder tending to another slideoff. I slid off the road sideways down and hill and crossed a ditch with a concrete ditch liner still sideways. The angle of both hills equaled approx 30 degrees. Bent both passenger aluminum wheels, flatened front passenger tire broke off passenger rear hub assembly clean and relocated the rear axle to the drivers' side slightly. I should be getting it back within the next week or so, body shop said they are replacing most everything under the rear frame of the truck and possibly two new tires. I know it isnt an 09 to present but it still seemed fitting to put it here rather than starting a new thread in the 04-08 section.

Dang man that sucks. I did the same "mod" to an expedition (going downhill, expedition cant stop as fast as a civic...) and the radiator had a slight bend to it and was replaced.
