Hi long time user poster some not much tho. Ive searched this segment area for interior lighting, no door switch etc and haven't found what I'm looking for directly. Altho I'm surprised how many times I've read "see dealer stealer". Now my 13 has had on and off issues with intermittent interior lighting and dunno why.. I e always gotten the dome light map etc.but nothing down low.. I read wheee soameone mentiined a sw up on the overhead console. I laughed cuz there ain't no sw there that I've ever seen. Least not on mine. Anyhowi had a bunch of nice blue LED strips I was doing to use in my boat, but had to sell her, just kill me now on that one. But I've installed these strips in places where I wanted lights and I think will look awesome as well. My problem is I need a dome light wire in the wire trunk down each side by the seat. Does one exist? Or am I looking for a critter that ain't there. Personally if I had legs I'd come off that dome light and run over down the pillar and then on the floor. But without legs working way above my head is not advantageous for me anymore. So can someone give me a color code of a done light activated 12v wire that runs down the channel on each side or at least one side? The 3rd brake light cargo light runs down that trunk then up in back to the light right? I e temp used a tap and used a wire off my dash headlight switch but I'm only pushing 3.5v and it's just not enuff. Any ideas would be great and appreciated greatly... I put strips under seat lips front and back of front seats also under lip of dash each side then under the side of seat so it will light up the kick plate as you step in the truck. I used 3m strips plus a tad of JB weld epoxy. A lil tape til she sets up good and ta da.. all I need now is that some wire type wire.
Also wife has a yellow hazard siren light off auction, it has a 3 wire cord and she has a 2.wire cig plug for it. I opened the light and saw that the rt hand side wire is a ground wire. It enters from the bottom up thru light then runs to a screw ground wire. The other 2 wires run into a blk transformer or regulator of sorts. Long story short I hooked up the 2 wires as hot and that 3rd wire as neg/grnd. It didn't work wired that way, only problem is she saw the thing light up before so what am I doing wrong? Somebody know what or how I'm suppose to wire it. 3 on 2??? Thx.
Not sure which setup you have. But, all the connectors are pretty much the same. Here's one, colors are listed. I'm not sure which wire would help, can't seem to understand which does what. Just not the ground.
thank you for your reply. its not quite what i was looking for and wit my rambling maybe i wasnt very clear either, it could happen. lol...
looking for interior light wires that maybe run in the side boards of cab. im handicapped and working above my head isnt advantageous fer me,, if i can help it.
ive got added LEDs all along the floor seats and dash,, so a low interior light wire would be great. surely teres a wire that runs down in that galley way that suit my needs. ive poked allot off wires with my light checker but then waiting on cab lights to time out to see if its interior lighting wire is tuff on me. im unable to get in truck and shut door and check that way. also no longer the simple door switch push button anymore. so would you please look again and see if theres such a wire down low? i would really appreciate it, and please dont worry about a ground wire, ive already set a common ground with the seat bolt in the floor.
those wires you did give me, how are they in the top? do they run in the floor and then up the middle pillar to the top of cab maybe ?

I take that back spiky, try I'm looking for a grey wire with a violet stripe 22 GA I take it.. you did give me allot to go on and I thank you. I hope I'm right about those color codes. Gy-Vt grey with violet is the only thing I can think of.. I'm headed out now to hunt for it. I looked at that back dome and I'm not sure I can make that transfer to that lil jump seat and working above my head be a lil ruff too. But that'll be last resort. Wish me luck I'm going hunting in a sea of wires. I didnt see if they gave which side that wire runs down.? Oh well I'll pick drivers side and ill do it at drivers feet cuz dunno if it runs up middle pillar or rear pillar. Don't want to miss it. If I'm not back in 2 days call the natl guard for me. 3 hail Mary's and away we go. I'm not Catholic but it can't hurt.

Spiky you were awesome my friend. Your dope was right on the money. Gy Vt was dead on and she is on both sides too. I took me a plastic pry tool that popped the sill.up.with and used that for a divider, keep straight tool and i went thru wire by wire. I thot it would be horrendous but not the case at all. I found the 1st wire 20mins in and the other side in about 10 mins flat. I separated all the obvious wrong answers then anything grey went to the side. once I had all the greys, I went thru and found the grey with violet trace. Light checked voltmeters and there she is. Just like your paperwork said. Now I did notice only pushing 3.5v and the blue lights are pretty but still it's dim. How can a fella pump up the volume? How can I make those brighter? They're quality lights for sure it's just not as bright as I want them to be. How do I do that people?
Also the lights that I put under the side lip of seats, under the lip that has the seat controls etc does look good. The blue light reflects off that other lower piece of plastic and then bounces out over the door sill itself. Now I have 4 strips left and instead of trying to mount them in the far back I'll probably mount them further in up under the dash closer to the firewall. Since my rear seats are almost always up cuz my wheelchair will go there if someone is riding with me or if alone my rear wheels get placed there and chair goes in other front seat. With seats upright there just doesn't seem to be any place to mount that's out of straight eyesight. And if I put them under seat out of eye sight then when seats are deployed, then your rubbing off the lights in the seat seam. So I just don't know where to do it. So how do I make those strips shine real bright? Don't worry I will post pics, I just didn't yet cuz of tools and trash strung out everywhere. I don't live that way and don't want others thinking I do. I ain't had to go anywhere so I left tools where they lay for time being. Ty again spiky you came thru for me. And thanks everybody else for helping. How do I make them lights sing? I'm not good with electricity. It doesn't like me and it will always find me. Don't care what it is, we don't get along. So I'm not an electrical engineer by any means. I put a simple plug in the house and I get popped twice. Once it got me so good, I slammed my soft elbow on the marble counter top trying to get away. My elbows have never recovered from my motorcycle wreck back in 90'. Elbows are still soft and sore.its funny, I broke back 8 places L3 exploded mangled cord, 11 broken bones in all, incomplete para, expired twice on careflight, and my elbows were not one of the broken bones, yet that is what still hurts today. Got off the path sorry bout that. How do we get these lights brighter? Pushing 3.5v currently if that matters?? Why aren't those coming in at 12v? Something dialing them down? Regulator? We've got to have more power Scotty... Power is bright right? How is it when I look at some of these trucks their lights are bright and you can see all the way across the floor? And they're not pushing as many lights as I am... I don't get it.. that one guy speaking about how he varied the power and dimming mode etc.. you wouldn't want these any dimmer or they just wouldn't look right or be very helpful either. I'm missing something here..I'll take photos so y'all can see what I'm talking about.. my computer and phn hasn't been playing well so we see if I can get em loaded.. Thank y'all.

rethinking this - i think id try and hook into the factory ambient lighting stuff - in the diagram above pin 15 and 16 i think it was
Ok but what am I gaining power wise here. I read the titles finally on spikys diagram and that grey with violet trace.22ga wire that I tied into is 3.5v and it reads ambient lighting. So ifn I'm thinking correctly I'm already in that circuit. Now unless your wires are carrying a full 12v then that's.djfferent. I reckon that's the unicorn I'm looking for a full 12v wire that's part of the interior lighting circuit. My very limited knowledge I'm thinking it's a real unicorn, it doesn't exist. So maybe try that fancy stuff. I've got some Rigid Ind. Relaya laying around and see about what that engineer said. Use 3.5 grey vt wire 3.5v to act like the trigger on the relay then run you a full 12v power wire from kick fuse box or straight off batt, inline fuse, run it to my relay as incoming power then run to my lights 3.5 triggers it 12v feeds it my lights should be screaming blue light well that 3 wires it's 4 post so I'm missing something here I'll have to go back and read I reckon. I know just enuff to be completely dangerous. Dead batt this morning, guess I didn't rip out all that old wiring and some wires broke with me yanking on end. I ran son under center console before and those wirea broke on me. So I have a pulled broke wire going to ground under there. Gonna have to get those wires out of there completely. Obviously I've got power to me still. I dunno how I thot I took care of that but dead batt says different. Ya know I've just installed a digital master sw controller in my truck to run all those outside lights. Worst case scenario I could just run 2 leads off my lights inside to the master sw under hood find an empty station wire it up. The on off is already wired thru the controller keypad in cab. I know I'm pushing full voltage thru there and it's got its own internal relay and fuses already on there. So all I need.is 2.wires.pks.neg.tying all my lights together and run em to the under hood master sw panel. Only thing there is hitting the switch to get full power.. hey why can't I leave the lights on ambient low power lighting activated by my doors and also do as I say and hook those lights into my sw panel thing so when bright bright lights are needed then hit the switch. Can I do that? Have both worlds? Low reg for everyday etc and when I'm looking for something then hit se.on panel and light them damn things up? That's what I want, both worlds. Is this possible guys. Leave as is then also tie em in to that fancy digital switch board? So cool then I'll be like that other feller with diff lights depending on what you need at the time. Is this possible or am I back at the unicorn thing again? Thx.for.your help.
Btw that fancy thing I'm talking Abt is an auxtel ?? 8 gang digital switch station I guess is what it's called. In can sw 8 stations 5 are already filled with outside lights and wired to the master sw thing under hood tied into battery. Self contained relays and fuses built in. No more hanging relays off your firewall and fenders etc etc and it saves on hassle of working on power sw relay etc.. once master board installed under hood and hooked up the. All that's left is routing pos and neg to the hood on SW board.
