Default Wipers wont turn off, what to expect from dealer

So i finally got struck with the all famous wipers that wont turn off. Of course i am out of my warranty. What can i expect from the dealer, am i stuck paying it all, does ford cover any? Any Ford Customer Service reps out there to help? Dropping truck off today. Thanks.

I couldn't believe how common this problem was when i googled it, How was this not a recall?

If it's out of warranty, the dealer probably won't cover it. But, since you said you searched for it and it's common, that means a lot of people probably have solved the problem. I'd think it's the switch, no? If it's something like that, it shouldn't be anything to terrible to just take care of at home.

Well the more research i do it sounds like the arm switch, there only 30 bucks on amazon, I think ill try just replacing that first in stead of wasting time with the dealer.

That's the solution. It's an easy fix.

Just had mine swapped out a couple of weeks ago. Same issue, and the fix is super simple. I actually had to swap out the same switch on my Edge because the high beams would come on intermittently.

Had the same issue about a month ago. Replaced the switch and good as new.

Hello dono16,

Be sure to speak with the service manager during your visit, as he is in the best position to ensure a proper diagnosis, and will be able to provide available options and/or coverage for any work needed.

Also, remember repairs done at a Ford Dealer come with a 24 months/unlimited miles warranty. Let me know the outcome.

Dealer wanted $250 dollars in N. Georgia area. Got part from Amazon for $25. Changed it myself from watching short video on YouTube. Took me 18 mins total! 2011 F150 SCREW

As others have said buy the stalk and change it yourself. Our 13 Explorer rear wiper wouldn't turn off and we had the extended warranty so it went in. All they changed was the stalk and had to pay the $100 deductible. Looked up the part and realized how cheap it was and did a facepalm.... Anyway shortly after my 2012 F550 rollback wouldn't shut the windshield wipers off so ordered the stalk and changed it myself in all of 5 mins... Much cheaper...

My 2011 wipers would swipe a few times and then stop wherever they want to every time I crank the truck, so I have to turn the switch and time it to stop them in the down position. I changed the multi-function switch and still have the same issue, they swipe five times and stop wherever. Could it be a faulty replacement switch, or is there some sort of reset you have to do after replacing the switch? This is driving me crazy! Any suggestions??
