Wiper Blades
So it poured cats and dogs in Houston today, and I had replaced my stock blades with some rain-x blades and these things SUCKED. The driver side was streaking bad.
Some of you guys here deal with the worst of weather like to know what y'all recommend. Mainly be dealing with rain, and ice once every 5 xmas's

+1 I'd like to hear what the best ones are too. Glad I didn't try the rain-x ones, I was seriously thinking about due to the fact we get a lot of tropical downpours here in the summer time.

I think there was a thread on this awhile ago but to contribute to the conversation, I had rainx blades on my 03 and they streaked really bad for me too. I don't think the winter ice and snow helped much though.

I bought the rain-X ones for my wife's MDX - they were darn expensive, but things SUCK - at any speed more than about 60 Mph they lift off the windshield and leave a big no-wipe spot on the down-swipe.
I'm going back to Bosch - they always worked great.
Do NOT buy the rain-x they are garbage.

When I replace the wipers, I always buy the replacements 2" shorter than the OE.
They actually fit the windshield and wipe all the way thru instead of leaving the last 2" unwiped around the windshield edge.

Bosch Icons work great for me as well. Are you sure that the Rain-X blades don't have some sort of blade protector on them that come from the manufacturing plant that you have to remove before use? Check that first before you give up on them. They sometimes put a protective sleeve on the edge of the blade surface that touches the glass to protect it...

Bosch are poop like the others. The best wiper blades made in the world are Silblades. I have them on everything. The set on my Jeep is 5 years old works as well as new. The set on my wifes car is 3 years old. The set on my truck are over a year old.
Im not going to try and talk them up. Either try them or dont. If you do, you will never use another brand. www.silblade.com
