Default Windshield Chips ?

I was curious as to what others may have experienced with their windshield. In three months on a new job, I have acquired about (7) good sized chips (no cracks yet) in mine. This seems quite a lot for a short time especially since I do not tailgate and "attempt" to avoid the plethora of tractor trailers during my drive.

Is this typical with a pickup truck in a big city ?

At this rate I would have to get a new one every year for a clear vision....

I have a bunch also along with a pretty good crack down the side because of a large rock. I drive 70 miles a day mostly highway and the rocks just seem to find the wind shield. I will be getting a new wind shield before winter sets in to bad here in Ohio. First chip was in 1500 miles of owning it that was two years ago now I am at 37000 or so and I can still see thur it.

I've got a chip in mine right now. I think I'm around 19000. I tried to take it to the dealer to get it repaired over the summer but he said it was too small to do anything about (a little smaller than my pinky nail, I'd say). I assumed they could fill it in with some resin and it'd be good as new, but I guess I'll just take my chances till it gets bigger.
