Default Wind noise?

Diving around (2011 SCREW 4x4 Lariat), I had the radio off; around 50-55 mph and above, I notice rather loud wind noise. I tried pulling in the mirrors, but no change in sound. Is this the same for everyone as just part of the design, or do I need to see if something is amiss? It just seems unusually loud for a vehicle of this build quality.

I have seen a video of how to make the doors seal better. It involves getting a reel of surgical tubing and run it through the largest channel of the rubber door seal. It seems like it would work but I have no experience in doing it myself.

Actually to me anyway, the truck is very quiet .....much quieter than the Edge I traded in. Really doesn't make any substantial noise until 70 - 75 MPH.
You might have a door or window that's not sealing correctly. I had a door seal problem with my old Taurus that made a lot of noise.

Do you by chance have a bug/hood deflector? Many have complained about the wind noise created by the addition of one.

I can hear a little wind noise also, but it's not bad at all.

My 2011 EcoBoost SC is quieter than our 2005 Volvo XC90 and rides better. Doesn't drive or handle better obviously, it's just smoother and quieter and gets better gas mileage. And it's a 4x4. I'm pretty happy with that part.

I also have heard that bug deflectors can cause problems but if it's not that and you've got noticeable noise at only 50-55 there's a leak somewhere.

I get some wind noise from the bug shield (AVS) above 70mph.

My truck is the quietest vehicle I've ever owned. My guess is that your bug deflector is the problem. Probably no cure for that.
