so i just bought a new fx4 and im trying to connect my phone and laptop to the wifi hotspot in the truck. it was pretty easy getting everything connected but when i went to the internet nothing would load. now this might be a dumb question with an obvious answer but is there anything else i need to get to make this work? USB mobile broadband or anything like that? give me some answers!! haha

 

You have to activate the hotspot feature on your phone. Sync doesn't connect to the Internet directly. If you have an android, you can get Foxfi from the play store and use your data plan.

If you are one of the lucky ones like myself to still have the iPhone unlimited plan...I have a 4s that has been jail break and I have unlimited hotspot! It's kinda nice on long trips because the wife and kid have tablets and I have peace and quiet while driving! Haha!

Yes...otherwise AT&T will automatically put you on the 2gig per month plan...once jail broke, they can't control it. You still have to be kinda careful with it...if AT&T sees astronomical usage every month they will know and probably say something to you. We only use it on long trips and not constantly.

 

Same here. Unlimited. I once used it way too much and they started slowing down my speeds.

 

Just use the phone for the hotspot and not use Sync.
