I don't care what happens to other peoples cars if they drive or park like MoTards. The only reason I don't have a receiver on mine right now is because I don't want to screw with it if I have to use my winch.

I've already had a few people hit my truck in parking lots. It would be nice to have a Spike & Hook hitch to ensure they left without a bumper.

I feel like I'm more likely to hit my shin on that than a normal ball.

Idk why, its easier to see, but my gut says I'd cuss myself for getting that when my knee goes full stride into the side of it. Lol

Just my initial thoughts.

You only walk into one of those once. It hurts so bad you remember to take a wider path next time, unless you rode the short bus in school, then it might take two or three times. Haha!

I've done it once with a normal ball.

Happened at work, walked around to get a few things out of the box, didn't even think about it and its perfectly at knee level for me...

Left knee hit, I hit the ground, and I laid there for several minutes wondering if I was going to pass out. It was the second most painful morning in my life.

I say second because, that same knee (left) was injured when I fell (all 210 lbs of me) right onto the 90° corner of a steel bedframe - the corner tip of the bed hit 1" below my kneecap - tearing the tendon on on the inside of the joint (inside of the knee, under the cap).

I have never felt pain like that before. Couldn't talk, couldn't breathe, couldn't move, and wanted to throw up.

3 years later I smacked that same knee on a ball hitch, as said above, and didn't further the injury, just rubbed salt in it. Lol

You don't forget it, you know at that very moment that you won't do it again. Its one of those feelings that stick with you.

285 posts now and it's great to know that us drivers of these large, long, limited-view vehicles are never guilty of inadvertently backing into sh*t ourselves.

To me the best reason to leave the hitch out between uses, is to help reduce OUR own liability when we eventually cause the problem.

I say leave it on, there is a reason you get a small savings from insurance companies if you leave it on.

I never said I would sue anyone for smacking my shin on their hitch ball. I will call them an ******* for leaving it in though.
