That said, since you challenge every piece of input you've been given here, I think you should buy a Dodge.
I challenge just the same for the dodge when i asked them the same question, its good to question everything when spending this kind of money on a truck. Going in blindly spending 35-40k on a truck without really looking into it isnt something i want to do.

I certainly have nothing against the ford, being that i am considering it just as much as the dodge and cant decide between the two should show im not leaning towards one over the other. But when i asked why ford was better, i was given ford sponsored video's, dodge has their own sponsored videos as well favoring their truck, so it doesnt really help me there.

I would be quite surprised if i seen a manufacture fund a video that is against their product.

For me the decision was easy because the Dodge was not even a consideration. Last time I owned a Dodge, it spent 59 days in the shop out of the first 6 months I owned it. I threw in the white flag at that point and swore I'd never touch another Chrysler product again.

and understandably i would feel the same way as you, but since i havent had that experience with either company, i dont have that sour taste left in my mouth.

Also was that dodge a current 09-10 model that was in the shop?

No, it was not a current model. In fact, it was over 10 years ago. Dodge could be the world's most reliable vehicle, and I wouldn't purchase one due to my previous experience.

The reason I went with Ford was because of the past. I have owned a couple Dodges and think they break down prematurely, I know everything breaks but damn. I had a lot of front end suspensions issues, power steering leak that kept Lucas products in business, TRANNY, water pump, and others before 100,000.

I think Dodge makes a good looking truck w/ a nice motor but the rest of the truck doesnt get as much consideration. I know some people only keep a vehicle for a few years and get another but I like them to last a long time w/ proper maintenance.

The F150s of the past havent had the same build and quality issues the Dodge Rams have had. I have also known folks that have owned several and they dont seem to have the issues Dodge has.. So IMO Ford makes a better truck, just not the fastest.

Thats fair enough, but 10 years ago, ford didnt have the best reputation either, sometimes just luck of the draw. But if i had the experience you did with dodge, i wouldn't want one either.

Speed isn't a big thing, that can easily be modified, seems people can get a decent amount of power out of the 5.4 with some simple bolt ons which i planned to do with both trucks anyways. The big thing that blew me away with the dodge was the interior, but it lacked on the outside compared to the ford.

I recently was in the market as well. I have plenty of freinds with chevys and knew already I wasn't interested. I drove a ram and drove the f150. The first time I drove the f150 I was sold. Plus the fact that the dealer was so much better to deal with. They wanted my business. Later in the week I told them what I wanted knowing they didn't have it, they went to TN and brought it back for me. I'm happy with my decision. It's super quiet, rides very well and pulls my boat like it's not there.

The only thing I like about the Ram is the fact that I'm not driving one. I got rear-ended by a Ram about a year back. His whole front end got torn all to hell and had to be towed out of the middle of the road. I drove my truck home and had the bumper replaced.

I drove a dodge and the interior looked cheap. The radio display screen was tiny, none of the parts of the dash looked liked they were made for the same vehicle, and the entire door panel rattled while I was driving. Those were my immediate thoughts about the Ram. It has the 5.7L Hemi, which offered some pick up, but it still has a 5 speed transmission, opposed to the 6 speed. the 5.7L five speed is good if you're trying to race another truck, but if you're spending 30k or more on a truck I hope you've graduated High school. Also, the exterior looks plastic and cheap.

I have a couple of friends with the Ram and they all seem to have the same problem after about 3 or 4 years; their trucks are falling apart.

In my opinion, why grab life by the horns when you can grab it by the *****?
