I'm just curious why it's not a DVD player. Especially having not 5.1, but 7.1 surround sound.
Can't understand the engineering logic there.

*****, I didn't even know this. I have never dropped a disc into the slot anyway.

I had DVD in our '10 Taurus LTD. To be honest, it was one of those "hey, that's cool" kinda things, but we only used it a time or two. Really a pretty useless option. You can (and should) only use it when stopped.

The cheapo Jensen I put in my 05 so I could have a back-up camera, could play DVD's.
It's too bad, because when I watch YouTube or whatever on my phone, it sounds great.

Just a quick eBay search.
I'm sure they have the cheaper ones for our seats.
I would think an Explorer's seat would have the same headrest posts. Don't ya think.

I think it's less distracting than cell phones!

Although I have aftermarket, we use ours a bunch. It makes trips go by fast for passengers and I like listening.

And on those nights the wife has a few tequila drinks I can slide in a skin flick fir the ride home as a primer.
