Not everyone. In fact most didn't. Most turned it into "why do you hate your truck? " Like, "my AC sucks," or stating how many times it's in the shop. Which I understand given the title.
But the Op is asking why people mod their trucks. Because for some reason he considers that "hating" your truck. Even though, he himself modded his truck.

Read OP, realized his post didn't match the title, or make much sense, and posted to the title.
As far as OP, I bought my truck TO mod it. I bought the one I liked 2nd best, but had the better aftermarket, with the full intent of doing everything to it that I have and then some with the exception of disabling Sync.
I still have my running board lights and underhood light to install, as well as a better armrest for my console, a different sub and enclosure, and getting the trailer brake controller programmed on Saturday.

well there's 3 things I learned in this thread:
