whining noise while cruising
I have a 2013 ford f150 xl 3.7 v6 with about 95,000 miles. Recently I have been hearing a intermittent whining noise that seems to be coming from front left somewhere. Usually seems to happen around 60 mph its random and not constant but when it happens is a noticeable high pitch whine. I have tried while it was happening turning off AC, turn right or left, and also braking. None of these made any changes. None of the PVC connections or tubing seem lose or damaged. The belts are all tight and alternator seems to be charging like it should. I get no wobble or pooping in the front left tire. I can't really diagnosis it because it isn't constant and only happens at a cruise speed going straight. Any ideas or experiences with the same issue?
I did read something about that. The only thing is I don't hear it idling. I also read it may be a fuel filter, but my mpg isn't effected so not sure about it.

Well reading the haynes manual the fuel filter is in the back by fuel tank and also its a lifetime fuel filter so that isn't it. I thought the auto tensioner marks indicated a new belt but was reading it the wrong way. Took off belt and moved pulleys they all didn't wobble or appear unusual. The alternator had a little more resistance but I assume the is just it being an alternator. I ordered a new belt and the pulley on the tensioner. I will let you know if it fixes my issue.

I can't narrow it down to a pulley because it happens only when I'm driving around 60 mph. I an starting to think it may be something with the fuel system, but all of this is hard to rule out with no dtc codes or being able to recreate.

Did any of you have any luck eliminating this noise? I have a 2012 F150 with very similar symptoms? Essentially, a high pitched whine starts at about 60 mph to 75 mph...a Ford Dealer and Diagnostic Shop have validated this high pitched whine. The latter shop wants to pinch off the 4 wheel drive lines to see if it is some kind of vacuum leak, this worked on another Ford Truck. Thanks, Arie from Arizona
