Wheels & Tires: 18 or 20 inch? Pros/Cons?
I'm having a really hard time deciding which way to go with my truck. I know I want more aggressive tires, and at first, I was going to stick with my stock 20" gunmetal wheels. BUT, I've always loved the red truck/black wheel combo, so I think that's the route I'm going to take.
So now, time to decide between an 18" or 20" wheel/tire combo. What are the pros/cons of each? My main concern with the 18s is the weight of the tires.
I'm looking at these options for my 2010 FX2 Screw w/2.5" Level:
18x9 KMC Addicts (Black) Offset: +18 on 275/70/18 or 295/70/18 Nittos
20x9 KMC Addicts (Black) Offset: +18 on 275/60/20 or 295/60/20 Nittos
Obviously the 18s will give me more tire/less wheel look, but at the expensive of a heavier tire. The 20s should be lighter, but have less sidewall. The 18s will be a little bit cheaper, but not enough to really matter to me.

I was just doing research on this a few days ago and I was just about sold on 20's until I figured out my speedo error. Considering I would be swapping back to my stock OEM 17's with winter tires for 4-6 months, I was going to go with the OEM sized 20s but that threw my speedo off my 7-8 kph at my normal highway speed and I couldn't just go get my speedo changed all the time. Something to think about

Re: weight. My truck weighs 6100. If any size combo is 200 pounds lighter overall, or heavier, that is about 3%. Not too much too orry about really.
Some may say that a thinner sidewall means a rougher ride. I'd challenge anyone to blindly test a 55 series against a 65 series and see if their butt can tell the ride difference.
Match the tire size/rim size with OEM to keep the speedo/odo in check, and go with what you like.

Thanks for the input so far
RE: Speedo error. I'm not really concerned about it to tell you the truth. As long as it's not harming the truck, I can live with it. I'm used to it from up-sizing on past cars. I'm not going that much bigger than stock.
RE: Wheel to Tire Weight. There seems to be a 10-15 lb. difference between the 18" tires and 20" tires. I'm not sure the weight of the stock wheels, but the KMC Addicts look to weigh in at 28-35 lbs.

18 inch tires are alot cheaper than 20 inch.
i also think they look more aggressive because you have more of a sidewall. but im old school and like alot of sidewall.

20" wheels look sharp, but 18's are no slouch.
Tough decision.

I agree with having lots of sidewall meat=protection. The roads in NY/NJ area are freakin trashed after this winter. If you will take the truck off-road at all the sidewalls will give your rims extra protection from damage.
