Default Wheel load capacity

I have been shopping for rims for the past month. I finally have understood the offset and how to tell what fits ( thank you forum members). My last issue/question is in regards to wheel load capacity. Most rims I look at have ratings of 2500 lbs. A few of them do have 3600 lb load capacity. I have a 2012 f150 xlt with max tow package and off road pacakge w/3.73 gears. My question is will 2500 lb rating be enough ( not sure what stock 18" chrome clad rim load capacity is).
Thanks on advance for the help.

The short answer is Yes.

Consider the GVWR of your truck. It's what 7700 pounds or something near there. That's the max you're legally, key word, allowed to carry within your truck. Ford puts either the P rated SRA or LT (C Range) Wrangler ATS tires on the 18's. They have a max rating of either 2601 or 2535 pounds, SRA or ATS or 10,404 and 10,140 pounds total . Your stock wheels are likely rated equal or possibly higher then the max rating of the tires. All well exceed the max GVWR of your truck.

Going with a higher capacity wheel or tire, isn't going to hurt anything. Except your wallet. But if the wheels you like are rated at 3600 pounds, go for it.

You should be fine with 2500# wheels. The rear axle is only rated for a little over 4k anyway. Just stick with name brand wheels. A lot of them come from china so the quality is sometimes missing.

Fords spec sheet shows all the 6lug wheel options being rated for either 2050# or 2100# and the 7lugs for 2400#. I'd say your good with 2500#
