Default what's that smell?

So on the way into work today I had the heat on in the truck. It was set on low blower speed and about half way on the heat/cool dial. I started to notice the faint smell of burning electronics. At first not to bad but after a few minutes I had to put the window down. This lasted about a hand full of minutes. I kept the window for a while and turned the heat off and looked for smoke, there was non I could see. After I was good and frozen I turned the heat back on and there was a faint smell again but dissipated quickly. After that the rest of the ride in (35min) was clean smelling.

Any ideas?

Was this the first time using the heat in a while? Could just be heating up the dust, etc on the heater coils.

There are no heater coils, but there is a heater core. To the OP, I have no idea. I would definitely keep an eye on things, as it sounds like something shorted out.
