Default Whats the secret

Can anybody show or tell me how to disconect the electrical plug on the high pressure fuel pump on the eccoboost engine. I need to unplug it to make room to remove the # 6 COP for a plug change I have searched every inch of it with a flashlight and a mirror and can not see any kind of a tab or release and Im afraid to pry on it for fear of breaking. any body who has changed plug on a eccoboost had the same problem?

I changed all 6 plugs without having to take anything related to the high pressure fuel system off.

Why do you think you need to take it off?

EDIT: I take that back (on my 5th beer) I think the button to depress on the electrical connection was on the bottom (underside)

Change plugs or just to check and change the gap. Most users report gap at .030 to .035 working the best with some from Ford gapped near .040.

Also CoreyMS made this vid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZX43j0fd02E and this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykWTKjBRyJM

Like already said, the release point is on the bottom. It took me a minute to get it as well.

My opinion is they are junk. I have tried two different types of spark plugs other than the OEM plugs. The truck runs smoother at all rpm's with different plugs. No 55 mph shudder, no rough cold idle, no surging at WOT. Other folks have had good luck re-gapping the stock plugs but I didn't.

Thank you that is exactly what I needed to know and for info only I was checking and reseting plug gap to .032 the gaps ranged from .030 to .038 the truck was running fine but after some reserch I decided to check them and gap all the same will have to wait and see if any change in performance, idle or mpg
