Default What's the difference between the Taurus and F150 Ecoboost?

I was looking at Wikipedia and they hqave the same HP but the Truck has more TQ... Is it like the situation with the 96 Windstar and New Edge Mustang, where the intake was better on the Windstar? or is there more to it?

Turbochargers, injection pumps, cams, heads, manifolds, intercooler and intake. I believe even the block is different.

The trucks use Borg-Warners (not sure on the '13 change right now) and the transverse mount uses Garrets I believe.

It's like the 5.0 Coyote they put in the Mustang and the 5.0 they put in the F150s. They just modify the motor for more torque. I love my 2011 SCREW 4x4.

Pistons too. Rods are the same. The pistons actually changed in the engines that were made for the f150 before 11/1/11 and those after.

The differences between those two are: Oil pump, pistons, intake cams, exhaust manifolds (headers on mustang). I might be forgetting something.

oh, ok, so they are completely different... I just find it stupid that they don't use the same components on both engines... For the 99-04 Mustangs you would take the intake manifold from the Windstar, that, I believe, was the only difference between the engines. I could be wrong... I might do that someday soon to my Mustang... I was thinking that the same might be applied to the Ecoboost engines but from what you guys say, they are almost completely different... While I did a search about the Ecoboost, I saw a possibility that they are bringing back the Bronco in 2015, any truth to this? I know it was replaced after the OJ Simpson incident (not because of it but still, coincidence?) by the Ex class SUVs, but this Bronco concept was directly marketed against Jeep...

I'd like to see the bronco come back ad well as a real thunderbird. Not that crap they called a thunder chicken a few years ago.

I believe the EcoBoost in the Flex, Explorer & Taurus SHO have dual exhaust. Not sure if it's true dual though.

What is your definition of "true dual"? H or divorced pipes is my opinion, but some people include X-pipes.
